Neosun Energy, a global leader in Solar Energy solutions, has successfully commissioned a 1 MW solar power system for Unity Foods Ltd in Karachi. This 1 MW facility has become a part of a larger 2 MW project that is planned to be installed on site.

This solar power plant will be a ballasted ground-mounted system, comprising approximately 3,650 solar panels (545 W) and seven inverters of 250 kW. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate an impressive 2,920 MWh of solar energy annually, significantly reducing operational costs and supporting Sunridge Products’ sustainability goals.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Unity Foods Limited for the 2 MW solar project in Karachi. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our shared commitment to sustainability. The solar plant will not only help Unity Foods achieve their carbon reduction targets but also inject green energy into their energy mix, reducing dependence on traditional power sources. By harnessing the power of solar, we are contributing to the broader effort to address Pakistan’s energy crisis, improve grid stability, and lower energy costs,” commented Osama Ahmed, Head of Sales at Neosun Pakistan. The first part of the project – a 1 MW system – has already been commissioned, with more than 1,800 solar panels installed.

This ambitious project marks another milestone in Neosun Energy’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable energy solutions for Pakistan. Solar initiatives like this are especially vital now, as the region grapples with pressing energy challenges.

“The main challenge in Pakistan’s energy sector today is the increasing cost of electricity, which has prompted a growing number of citizens to transition to alternative energy sources like solar power,” commented Ilya Likhov, CEO of Neosun Energy.

As electricity rates and fixed charges continue to climb, relying on the national grid is becoming increasingly unsustainable for many. With more businesses turning to alternative energy sources, the burden of maintaining the grid falls on a smaller group of consumers, driving their costs even higher. This cycle creates a pressing need for affordable and sustainable energy solutions.

Solar energy, as the most cost-effective form of energy generation, offers a promising answer. By reducing reliance on the national grid, it not only eases the strain on grid infrastructure but also shields consumers from rising and unpredictable electricity costs. Solar energy provides a stable, long-term solution, making it a critical alternative for addressing the region’s energy challenges,” emphasized Likhov.

Last year, Neosun Energy established branches in Karachi and Lahore, expanding its services in the region with multiple completed projects.

This move aims to provide commercial solar panels and energy storage solutions with capacities ranging from 200 kW to 10 MW for local commercial and industrial projects, helping them reduce electricity bills and increase efficiency.
